Prague S9 trains restricted until November 3: what changes between Uhříněves and Říčany

Prague S9 train services are restricted between Praha-Uhříněves and Říčany/Strančice until November 3, 2026. The disruption is linked to construction work on the Prague Ring Road and affects regular commuter connections southeast of Prague.

Some shorter S9 services are cancelled in the affected section, while a replacement XS9 bus provides an additional connection between Háje metro station and Říčany.

Passengers should also allow extra time because delays of up to about 10 minutes can occur between Uhříněves and Říčany.

S9 train restrictions until November 3

According to Prague Integrated Transport, the working-day restriction runs from October 12 through November 3, 2026.

Selected short S9 services in the Praha-Uhříněves–Říčany/Strančice section are cancelled without a direct rail replacement.

XS9 replacement bus connects Háje and Říčany

An additional XS9 bus operates between Háje on metro line C and Říčany. PID notes that the bus follows a special disruption timetable and is not guaranteed to connect with individual trains.

For some passengers, travelling via Háje may therefore be more practical than waiting for the next S9 service.

R17 and R49 services are also affected

Selected R17 morning trains toward Prague make an additional stop at Říčany. Some R49 services also make extra stops at Strančice and Praha-Kolovraty.

Several regional bus lines have adjusted departure times to preserve connections with the remaining trains.

Why the restriction is in place

The railway is being affected by continuing Prague Ring Road construction. During the works, capacity between Praha-Uhříněves and Říčany is reduced.

Before travelling, passengers should check the current PID or railway operator timetable because the exact impact depends on the specific service and time of day.
