Average salary in the Czech Republic reached CZK 51,966 in Q2 2026

The average salary in the Czech Republic reached CZK 51,966 gross per month in the second quarter of 2026. According to the Czech Statistical Office, nominal wages increased by 6.4% year on year.

After adjusting for inflation, real wages rose by 4.3%, meaning employees gained purchasing power compared with the same period of 2025.

The new figures are important for people comparing job offers, planning relocation, or checking whether their current pay is close to the national average.

Average salary in the Czech Republic: Q2 2026 figures

The Czech Statistical Office reported that the average gross monthly wage reached CZK 51,966 in Q2 2026. The median wage was lower than the average, which reflects the usual effect of higher salaries at the top of the income distribution.

For job seekers, the average is a useful benchmark, but actual pay still varies significantly by region, profession, experience, and sector.

Prague remains above the national average

Prague continues to report the highest wage level in the country. In the second quarter of 2026, the average gross monthly wage in Prague reached CZK 66,459, well above the national figure.

This gap helps explain why many vacancies in Prague offer higher salaries, while housing and everyday living costs are also typically higher than in other Czech regions.

What the wage growth means for employees

Nominal wage growth of 6.4% combined with lower inflation produced a real wage increase of 4.3%. In practical terms, employees on average could buy more with their earnings than a year earlier.

When comparing a job offer, it is still worth looking beyond the headline salary and checking bonuses, working hours, contract type, benefits, and the difference between gross and net pay.
